Royal 1st Devon Imperial Yeomanry Uniform Elements Pertaining To Major William Gerald Hole (1881-1974)
Comprising a two pocket scarlet serge frock, this with blue facings, chain epaulettes bearing the rank of Major and Imperial Yeomanry buttons. The large fastening buttons are in white metal and the smaller buttons are in silver plate, but all bear the retailer's mark 'R.Pidgeon, Exeter'. A full dress pouch belt, silver lace on red moroccan, full dress busby cap lines, a linen waistbelt with dress sword slings. A scarce khaki coloured side hat with quilted lining and a narrow leather chinstrap, this complete with a bronze KC Royal Crest badge. A Sam Browne belt and a Lieut. Colonel's Tropical Service four pocket tunic to the Royal Signals (lacking collar badges and possibly not relevant to Major Hole). All items contained in a large metal carrying tin inscribed 'Lt. W.G.Hole, Royal 1st Devon Impl. Yeomanry'. (8)
