A fine black lacquer five-case inro
By Miura Meiho, late 19th century
Of upright form, bearing a roiro ground and lacquered in gold and coloured togidashi with a continuous scene of a girl boarding an open boat, accompanied by her servant who is laden down with baggage attached to a pole over his shoulder, while two herons fly overhead, a thatched hut among pine trees on one shore, the interior is of nashiji, signed Meiho; with a red seal Miura; with red glass ojime. 9cm (3½in).
