A black lacquer four-case inro
By Yamada Jokasai, 19th century
Bearing a roiro ground and lacquered with a girl tofu peddler holding a cash book and laughing behind her hand at her male companion, holding aloft a basket of fish, who leaps to escape attack by a large dog while a hawk flies away above with one of his fish, in gold, silver and coloured togidashi, with details of e-nashiji, the interior of nashiji, signed Jokasai; with cloisonné enamel ojime. 7.9cm (3 1/8in).
