An inside-painted crystal 'fragrant concubine' snuff bottle
Liu Shouben, dated 1993 The slender body painted with Xiangfei gardening and dressed in Western clothing on one side, the other side with a contrasting portrait of Xiangfei wearing Manchu clothing. 6.1cm high.
Provenance 來源: Y.F. Yang & Co., Hong Kong
Both figures are painted in homage to the artworks of the Qing court artist Giuseppe Castiglione. The inscription translates 'made by Liu Shouben, the finest of the Jing class, spring of 'guiyou' year (1993)', followed by a seal of the artist.
