The slender body painted with Xiangfei gardening and dressed in Western clothing on one side, the other side with a contrasting portrait of Xiangfei wearing Manchu clothing.

    Both figures are painted in homage to the artworks of the Qing court artist Giuseppe Castiglione. The inscription translates 'made by Liu Shouben, the finest of the Jing class, spring of 'guiyou' year (1993)', followed by a seal of the artist.
