Qing dynasty, signed Shao Maolin Of compressed globular form, the wide body with flaring sides slightly curved inwards towards the flat foot, surmounted by a domed cover, the clay of a dark-reddish tone, wood stand. 15.5cm long.

Shao Maolin is renowned for the reputation of his family's Yixing stoneware workshop during the Qianlong period. The finest quality Yixing stoneware it produced at the time was referred to by Yixing connoisseurs as 'Teapots of the Shaos'.
