An Yixing stoneware 'famille-rose' enamelled 'lion' teapot and cover
Qing dynasty, signed Han Zhen Of large globular form flanked by a handle and spout, the exterior enamelled with four phoenix amongst lotus scrolls in brilliant colours, the cover with an interlocking mechanism surmounted by a larger Buddhist lion pouncing on a small one, two-character zhuanshu mark in the inside cover. 29cm long.
Born in 1805, Han Zhen is a native of Yixing who produced teapots during the Qing dynasty, though the name is rarely recorded in historical texts.
