Footnotes

  • It has been widely believed that Shao Daheng (1796-1850) created the 'dragon' teapot, and stonewares of this form subsequently became in vogue. Examples are found in Wang Yiyu's collections, Nanjing. See Gu Jingzhou, Yixing zisha zhenshang, Appreciation of Yixing Stonewares, Hong Kong, 1992, p.88, pl.65. and another example in the collection of K.S.Lo, see Hong Kong Museum of Art ed., Yixing Purple Clay Wares - The K.S.Lo Collection, Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Hong Kong, 2002, p.104, pl.59.
