A pair of Yixing stoneware 'boys and buffalo' water dropper
Late Qing dynasty / early Republican, signed Wen Ji Each naturalistically modelled in the form of a boy climbing onto recumbent water buffalo, its tail and the boy's hair are painted in brown coloured slip, the boy's hat removable to form the finger hole, the body impressed with a seal mark. 10.1cm long. (2).
Wenji is the name of the workshop launched by Jinrong during the early twentieth century.
