Yixing Stoneware from the Mr and Mrs Gerard Hawthorn Collection: Part II (lots 501-545)
Four Yixing 'lotus seed' water droppers
Qing dynasty Each naturalistically modelled in the form of a lotus seed pod with loose seeds, the body decorated with applied fruits and nuts in differing coloured clays and slip, impressed with seal marks. The largest: 7.5cm long. (4).
The square seal mark reads mingyuan, and the two-character marks jiang ji and jin chang probably refer to the names of the workshop.
