American, early 19th century
in mahogany, with a footed shaped base supporting a box with diamond inlays and a drawer with a foliate decorated bone scrimshaw front, and the initials "SW", the top mounted with a pair of whales teeth, one with a ship under full sail, the other with an image of Liberty. The watch tower with a circular framed scrimshaw opening for a watch with a turned finial at the top.
8-1/2 x 3-1/4 x 8-3/4 in. (21.5 x 8.2 x 22.2 cm.)
