A miniature Napoleonic Prisoner of War model of a 46-gun frigate

the hull of the model is built up from a wooden plug with ivory veneers laid over the plug, there is a painted black band at the waist, and the gun port lids are painted red. At the bow is a carved and polychromed figurehead of a woman, and at the stern the quarter galleries and transom are cut and pierced with polychrome decoration along the taffrail. The decks are fitted with anchors, pin and fife rails, windlass, belfry, ship's boat swung over the open waist, cannons, and other details. Rigged with three masts and a bow sprit, standing and running rigging, including ratlines, bound masts, cross spars, tops and trees, stays, bracing lines, etc. The model is displayed on a pair of ivory cradles in a mahogany framed glass case.
