Opaque watercolor on paper, Kangra, circa 1840-50
Within a narrow marble pavilion set within a pond, the expectant Nayika is dressed in fine white gilt-stamped textiles is seated in a relaxed manner leaning against a small purple bolster waiting for her lover, she has adorned herself with lavish gold jewelry, prepared pan and sweets set in a tray before her.
