Opaque watercolor on paper, Mughal, early 17th century
A destitute beggar wearing a pale blue tunic and green scarf crouches on the ground with his had extending to the maiden, she wears full length red dress and thick shawl covering her head, an infant, startled by the beggar cowers under his mother's shawl.
