A black stone figure of Shiva
Kashmir, circa 8th century
Standing in a flexed pose with four arms and three heads backed by a nimbus, his hair gathered in a twisted heap and loose tresses falling on his shoulders, the upper hands holding discs, the lower with a rosary and a water pot, his short pleated dhoti slightly making his erect phallus and his vehicle Nandi behind.
