Tibeto-Chinese, 18th century
Seated in dhyanasana, dressed in the robes of lay nobility with identifying turban gathered in a cylindrical topknot with separately pieced tresses falling down over his shoulders surmounting a face rendered with a stern expression of staring eyes and knitted brow, his right hand reaching over his knee in the earth-touching mudra as his left had rests in his lap.
