'Maharajadhiraj Maharana ji Shri 108 (times) Shri Sarup Singh ji's likeness painted, on horse Natwar, by the artist Sivalal Samvat 1916 (circa 1859 AD) on the 25th day of the month of Pha(l)gun'

Verso:
'Maharajadhiraj Maharana ji Shri Sarup Singh ji, on horse Natwar, with artist and attendants'

Surrounded by his courtiers bearing the royal standards and umbrella, the ruler is mounted on Natwar. The horse is richly caparisoned with sweeping gold chains of connected flowers adorning his mane. The troupe move across a pale green ground with low rolling hills meeting a cloud-wisped sky.
