1972 Triumph T100R
Frame no. T100REG57795
Engine no. T100REG57795
A measure of how involved Larry Lattin was with his motorcycles is this tidy T100 Daytona, which he purchased as a basketcase from a local dealer, then assembled and restored himself. The sporty aluminum rims were added by Lattin during the restoration.
Produced from 1967-74, the twin-carburetor Daytona was inspired by team rider Buddy Elmore's 1966 win in the big 200-mile AMA road race at the Daytona International Speedway on a race-prepped 500cc twin. It was Triumph's first win on the hallowed high banks. The engine, of course, has roots that can be traced all the way back to 1938 and Edward Turner's original Triumph Speed Twin 500.
