1972 Yamaha DT250MX
1972 Yamaha DT250MX
Starting in 1968 Yamaha's DT-1 dual-purpose bike was such a runaway hit that sales were soon closing in on 50,000 units per year, an amazing number then and now. Many of the bikes were being modified into pure dirtbikes, a trend Yamaha took note of. Their response was the DT250MX, an off-road only version stripped of lights, with knobbies fitted, and making more power via cylinder porting and an expansion chamber.
