1995 Bimota DB1 Supermono
Frame no. 00280
Engine no. 00280
Launched at the Milan Show in 1994, the BB1 reflected the growing interest in sporting 'supermono' singles and was built to Bimota's customary exacting standards. Its specification included a frame fabricated from oval-section aluminium tubing, Paioli adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes and Marchesini wheels. The power unit was BMW's Rotax-built 652cc water-cooled four-valve single, as found in the F650 Funduro, but bolted directly to the fame rather than rubber mounted as in the Beemer. Under-seat exhausts were becoming fashionable at the time and their adoption on the BB1, with the headers running above the engine, forced the fuel tank's relocation to the belly pan. The typical Bimota price tag meant sales were...exclusive, and only 376 BB1s sold worldwide.
Currently displaying a total of only 3,441 kilometres on the odometer, this one California owner example of a rare single-cylinder Bimota is presented in fine condition. The gorgeous looks, excellent handling and Italian exclusivity are the draw for the discerning enthusiast and collectors.
