Representing the last iteration of the original Triumph Bonneville, the T140 incorporated a host of changes aimed at bringing the venerable air-cooled twin up to date. Big news was in the engine bay, where overbored 76mm cylinders brought displacement to 744cc. The additional power now worked through a 5-speed gearbox, beefed up throughout to handle the increased torque. Likewise, a new triplex primary chain was employed.

Given the increased rideability of the T140 Bonneville and American owners' penchants for customization, it is indeed rare to find one, as here, in original condition with low mileage. This two-owner example shows just 7660 miles on the odometer, having spent a good portion of its life in sunny, dry Nevada. It has been treated to a recent service, with new points and sparkplugs installed, and the carbs cleaned.
