An Apulian red-figure owl skyphos
Circa 4th Century B.C.
Both sides depicting an owl, each with large circular eyes with central dots, a small 'v' for the beak, the folded wing with diagonal striations for the feathers, the body and head highlighted with dots, a sprig of laurel on either side, 3¼in (8.3cm) high
