Two Mesopotamian hardstone stamp seals
Late Uruk - Jemdet Nasr Period, circa 3300-2900 B.C.
One in banded calcite in the form of a lion's head in profile, pierced vertically, the base with five stylized dogs in drilled technique around a four-toed foot, 1¾in (4.5cm) long; and another in the shape of a reclining boar, pierced vertically, the base carved with drillings and a stylized quadruped, 2¼in (5.5cm) long, mounted on display bases with impressions (2)
