A fine and rare mid-15th century oak and iron-bound coffret or missal box, French, circa 1440 - 60
Having a slightly domed lid hinged at one short end and enclosing a vacant interior, the opposing short end with decorative hasps and lockplate, all-over covered with iron and pierced to the lid and lockplate end with panels of pierced tracery, each long side with a pair of loop handles, 13cm wide, 19.5cm deep, 10cm high (5" wide, 7.5" deep, 3.5" high)
