Footnotes

  • This armchair demonstrates a high degree of sophisticated, refined Elizabethan design, of apparent simplicity. The decoration is conservative, reserved just for the top rail, seat rails and front supports, with the exception of the decorative and unique scroll finials to the rear uprights. The steep rake design creates a chair that is attractive from all angles, stable in use and extremely comfortable! Compare with the simplicity of Lots 225, 253.
