This painting is sold with accompanying Papunya Tula Artists documentation that reads in part: 'This painting depicts designs associated with the soakage water site of Pukaratjina, west of the Kiwirrkurra Community in Western Australia. In ancestral times a Tingari Man of the Tjupurrula kinship subsection camped at this site and spun hair. This is then used to make hair-string belts which are then worn during ceremonies. The sinuous lines in this painting represent the hair string. From Pukaratjina the man travelled east to Tarkul, north of Mt. Webb.'
