An Anglo Indian early 19th century palmwood campaign table
the rectangular cleated plank top above one removable frieze drawer, enclosing four lidded compartments flanking a central leather inset hinged ratcheted writing slope, on four retractable and hinged ring turned and reeded tapering legs, terminating in peg feet, with an ink inscription underneath the top bearing: 'MISS MARY ANNA CLEMENTSON' and another ink inscription underneath the writing slope bearing: 'MARY ANNA CLEMENTSON, FROM HER AFFECTIONATE FATHER, CALICUT - MALABAR PROVINCE, 20 SEPT 1836,' 90cm wide x 60.5cm deep x 74.5cm high, (35" wide x 23.5" deep x 29" high)
