A Neo-Classical marble janiform herm depicting Hercules
probably late 18th / early 19th century
each side depicting the mature features of the thick-set hero wearing the Nemean lion pelt, the faces carved with furrowed brows, with thick wavy hair and full beards, set on a later neck with lion-paw fastening and pedestal base, the head, 11in (28cm) high and inclusive of the base: 19¾in (50cm) high
