An early Victorian rosewood secretaire Wellington chest
attributed to W. Smee & Sons,
the rectangular top over a lappet carved cornice and plain frieze, above one drawer, with a secretaire drawer below, enclosing six pigeon holes, three drawers and a gilt tooled leather inset writing surface, over two long drawers and a cellaret drawer, flanked by lotus-leaf and lappet carved angles, with one locking bar, the underside of the cellaret drawer signed in pencil: 'JB/2 10 Sat', 72.5cm wide x 45cm deep x 125cm high, (28.5" wide x 17.5" deep x 49" high)
