in the Renaissance revival style
inlaid with a knight, a lady holding a coat of arms, assorted polygonal and geometric tesserae arranged in various patterns and scrolling forms, stylised flowers, stringing and foliage, the broken triangular pediment above an etched ivory tablet depicting musical putti flanked by griffin-carved spandrels, over a pair of segmental panel inlaid doors enclosing one shelf, with spiral twist-turned columnar angles surmounted by obelisk finials, the fall below inlaid with a panel depicting a version of "L'Aurora" after Guido Reni (1575 - 1642), enclosing four drawers and a central arched pigeon hole, above one long frieze drawer, on ring turned reeded and fluted front legs and stile back supports, the chair inlaid with a courtly gentleman, on shaped X-frame supports, the bureau cabinet: 106cm wide x 51cm deep x 214cm high, (41.5" wide x 20" deep x 84.5," high) the chair: 42cm wide, (2)
