in the Renaissance revival style
possibly Tuscan, inlaid with scrolling foliage, dragons, cherubs, an array of medieval figures including yeomen, a knight and ladies holding the Medici coat of arms, an assortment of polygonal tesserae arranged to form geometric shapes, and scrolled stringing, the rectangular top inlaid to the centre with an oval scene depcting an Assembly of Gods including Jupiter, Juno and Ganymede, above one long and two short guilloche inlaid frieze drawers, over two panelled doors flanking the kneehole, enclosing three drawers and one shelf, on moulded plinth bases, 110cm wide x 60cm deep x 79cm high, (43" wide x 23.5" deep x 31" high)
