A silver Guernsey Races trophy cup

Ewer form, the hinged lid with foliate finial profusely embossed with c-scrolls and foliage, the leaf-capped scroll handle with duck head detail, the body with c-scroll framed vacant cartouche above a scene of a horse in a stable surmounting a presentation inscription, "This cup given by her majesty Queen Victoria to the Guernsey Races June 1847", with knopped stem, raised on an octofoil base, height 37cm, weight 35.5oz.
