A second quarter of the 19th century Chappe semaphore automata clock
the case surmounted by an associated semaphore tower with working signalling arms pivotted about their centre and with shaped terminals, raised over an automata fountain between two trees, mounted on the main case of rectangular form enriched with flowers and wreathed foliage, over stiff leaf moulding and plinth base, the 3.5 inch gilt Roman dial with moon hands, the drum movement with silk suspension, the automata movement with rectangular plates turning the semaphore arms above, 58cm (22.75in)
