Opuscula Erasmo Roterodamo interprete [with Thomas More], device on title and last page, first 2 leaves once stuck together and damaged, title with paper seal pasted over manuscript inscription and early stamp inked out, Erasmi/Erasmus/Erasmo on title and lower margin of first leaf of most gatherings inked out, the latter ("guide titles", according to Ahmanson-Murphy very rare at this date, serving to discriminate gatherings when the shop had more than one title being printed), the Charles Lacaita copy (1853-1933, bibliographer and botanist), with the joint bookplate, lot 190 in a sale at Sothebys in the 1950s (with ticket in John Pashby's hand), note on the binding by Graham Pollard tipped-in, contemporary Venetian binding [by Andrea di Lorenzo, the "Mendoza binder"] of red morocco, sides gilt with gathered floral tools, front cover with title, gilt and gauffered edges, small chip at head of spine, ties missing [Adams L1624; Ahmanson-Murphy 145], 8vo, Venice, Aldus, 1516
