Volumen... juris totius civilis, printed throughout in black and red, device on title within attractive border on criblé ground, woodcut of the emperor on last page of preliminaries, a few contemporary manuscript notes, a large copy in a contemporary Netherlandish binding of blindstamped calf over wooden boards, sides with pineapple tool in diaper pattern, surrounded by alternating circle and rectangle floral tools, clasps (attached on lower cover) renewed, minor repairs, front joint cracked [not in Adams; Moreau 647, NLS and Neufchateau only], folio, Paris, Claude Chevallon, 1524


  • The binding may well be by the same binder as Oldham pl.V - two of the tools seem to be the same - which he included as a sample Netherlandish binding.
