Footnotes

  • First published in Latin in 1502, this is the first edition in the original Greek. It is referred to as modern Greek since the text dates from about the sixth century AD, roughly when ancient Greek is regarded as changing to the medieval (or modern) language. We are much obliged to Leonora Navari for her help in the cataloguing of this lot.
