[The New Testame[n]t of Our Saviour Christ], black letter, woodcut illustrations including cuts of the Evangelists (and 18 in Revelations), lacks 32 leaves (including opening 15 preliminaries, and final 8 leaves), colophon leaf supplied in manuscript facsimile, with note "This is the correct last leaf of this edition. From the copy in the British Museum. Francis Fry 1876", approximately 10 leaves with some loss, cropping touching headlines and side-notes of some leaves, bookplate of Andrew Gifford (1700-1784, Baptist minister, and Assistant Librarian at the British Museum), and inscription of "Baptist College Bristol", eighteenth century boards, morocco spine gilt (laid down, with Gifford's name at foot), worn [Herbert 96; STC 2863], 8vo, [John Day and William Seres, 1551]

  • Scarce edition of Tyndale's version of the New Testament which "agrees very closely... with the same printers' earlier edition of 1548. The Table by John Calvin, and the matter after the text [not present in this copy] are new; and the cuts in Revelation differ" (Herbert, who also notes that no copy with the title-page is known to have survived).
