Footnotes

  • Herbert notes that this edition is not, as stated on the title, a copy the Matthew version. The Old Testament and Apocrypha are a revised editon of Taverner's version (apparently prepared by Edmund Becke), and the New Testament closely resembles Day and Seres' Tyndale Testaments of 1548 and 1551. See illustration overleaf.
