A Chinese furong soapstone reclining Arhat
Qing dynasty
The stone of beige tone with russet-red inclusions, the smiling Arhat naturalistically rendered with great detail, his face finely carved and incised, his right arm resting on a zafu, a bracelet of praying beads suspending from the hand, his robes incised with decorative borders and scrolling floral patterns, with a lion cub leaning against his right leg, with stand.
