Azurite on Malachite
New Cornelia Pit, Ajo, Arizona
Better known for its native copper specimens, there were a few quality azurites which emerged from this mine and this is one of them. This is one of the rarer Arizona localities and the present specimen is a pretty as they come with clusters of intergrown sharp, gemmy blue crystals. Measures 2 ¼ x 1 ¼ x ½ in
Provenance: Frank M. Valenzuela Mineral Collection. With a paper label from the collection.
