A Chrysocolla, Malachite, Cuprite, and Chalcocite sculpture on base
by Joseph McAnney
Tonopah-Belmont Mine, Arizona
A free-form tabletop-sized carving inspired by the beauty of the stone--this sculpture is a reminder of bygone days of a great Western locality now permanently closed even to collectors. The Tonopah-Belmont Mine produced an abundance of gold, silver, lead and copper in its heyday and was once one of the more productive commercial mines of the area. Perched on a base of natural hematite collected from Swansea, Arizona.
