Gemstone Carving of a Kingfisher

Depicting a European Kingfisher bird, the body carved of Persian turquoise, the beak fashioned of nephrite jade; the fish in his mouth carved from carnelian agate, while the underbelly of the bird is carved from rare orange agate known as eosite. The bird is perched on a base which is a natural white calcite mineral specimen, silver vermeil feet. Height 5in
