Cerrusite Cat's Eye
The other half of the same crystilar stone from the same rough was recently donated by the consignor to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Department of Mineral Sciences.
Strong central eye, very sharp, cat's eyes have been see in cerrusite but only in stones with a white body color. The present stone has a unique pastel salmon color, very rare to see with the optical phenonmenon of chatoyancy.
Weighing approximately 44.78 carats and 16.5 x 9.0mm
