  • Born in Beijing in 1948, Wang Yong graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA), majoring in Chinese paintings and seal script calligraphy. As a graduate student, he studied under Li Keran. Later, he taught at the CAFA. Wang Yong has won numerous awards nationally and internationally, and his works are widely collected by Chinese collectors and by international institutions, including the Chinese National Museum.

    王鏞,1948年3月出生于北京。中央美术学院中国画系教授。1979年考取中央美术学院中国画系李可染教授研究生,攻山水画和书法篆刻专业,得到叶浅予、梁树年、孙克纲等先生的指导。1981年毕业创作获叶浅予奖金一等奖,后留校任教。现任中央美术学院中国画系教授、书法艺术研究室主任、中国美术家协会会员、中国书法家协会篆刻艺术委员会副主任、全国中青年书法篆刻展评审委员会副主任、东方美术交流学会副理事长。书画作品曾先后入选全国或国际性展览80余次,30多次被聘为全国或国际性展览大赛评委,专业刊物专题评介近40次,出版个人作品专题8册,并有17幅作品被中国美术馆及其他博物馆、美术馆收藏。 王镛在书法篆刻上是一代开宗立派者。他的书法立意高古,粗犷质朴,取法于六朝碑版,胎息于汉魏简牍,视觉性极强,充满现代感。特别是他的用笔长短兼用,软硬并施,满幅纵横,一任自然而功力内含,可谓前无古人;他的篆刻苍润奔放,古拙奇崛,掺和汉晋砖瓦文字,三代铜器铭文乃至于秦汉古印之神韵而自出机杼,真率、质朴、自然、大气磅礴,与自己书法风格高度统一,成为当代篆刻界最具有影响的开派人物之一。
