• Yuan Ying specialized in the painting of landscapes and flowers, and was active in the Ruyiguan at the Qianlong court between the years 1765-1785, serving the Inner Palace upon the recommendation of Li Yinpei. He was originally from Yuanhe, Jiangsu Province and used the zi Jinhua and hao Erfeng. His long service to the emperor is evinced by his extent works in the National Palace Museum Taipei, including three hanging scrolls and an album, and several extant works in the Palace Museum Beijing. Yuan Ying was also one of several artists that contributed paintings that adorn the buildings in the Qianlong emperor's retirement garden in the northeast corner of the Forbidden City, see Nancy Berliner， The Emperor's Private Paradise Treasures from the Forbidden City, 2010

  袁瑛（清）,字近华,号二峰,元和人（今苏州）。钺侄。童时侍其叔习山水，既长从徐北山（尚）学花卉，写意之笔，颇有骨力。乾隆三十年（一七六五）膺李因培（鹤峰）之荐，供奉内廷。山水晚年益加精密，出入宋、元，用笔沈厚，宗黄鼎法而变以己意。尝作乔木高居图最妙，张问陶有诗题赠。前后居京师垂四十年，后官粤东开平县沙冈司（瓯钵罗室书画过目考作开平知县）。乾隆五十年（一七八五）归隐葑溪，筑赐诗堂以居。
