Ink and color on paper, hanging scroll, inscribed and dated dingyou (1837) signed Weng Luo, followed by two seals of the artist reading Weng Luo yin and Muzhong, with two collectors' seals.

Footnotes

  • According to the biographical preface in his collection of poetry Xiaopenghai shiji, Weng Luo was a native of Jiangsu province. His father, Weng Guangping, was also a poet and author. Weng Luo's high position in the artistic circles of his day is demonstrated by the extant of collaborative works with such artists as Qian Du.
