FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY inscribed by the author (translated): "To my dear Jakov Mysevich Tzwibak with the fond memories of the author, 12.32." Tzwibak [1902-1994] is better known by his nom-de-plume Andrei Sedykh. He emigrated the same year as Nabokov, first to Istanbul and then Paris. He was a correspondent for Poslednie novosti , Segodnia (Riga) and Novoe russkoe slovo (New York).
