An apparently unpublished poem. Though Annenkoff is much better known as artist, his literary works are known as well. In 1934 he published the highly regarded Novel about Nonsense in Berlin. He worked for many Russian émigré magazines, published books about theater and a book of memoirs. The conclusion of the present poem is very distinctly anti-revolutionary.
