The edifice an asymmetrical arrangement of sliding cupboard doors and hinged cabinets, the gilt lacquer panels inlaid in varied hues of mother-of-pearl and bone in scenes of wisteria, peony, chrysanthemums and prunus atop horizontal panels depicting schools of writhing koi, the black lacquer framing members enameled in gray in intricate patterns of vine and lotus scrolls surrounding large chrysanthemum roundels, all supported by a separate waisted stand of cabriole legs separated by elaborate aprons.
