a) Dai Jian (Shiping) (19th century) Ink landscape, hanging scroll, ink on paper; inscribed, dated gengxu xia (summer of 1850) and signed Shiping with one seal of the artist reading Shiping (creases, repairs).

b) Monk Xuezhou (1846-after 1896) Ink landscape, hanging scroll, ink on paper; inscribed and signed Xihu Xuezhou with one seal of the artist reading Xuezhou (foxing, stains, creases).

    According to the Han Song Ge Tan Yi Suo Lu, Xuezhou was a monk at Hangzhou's Nanbing temple. As cited in Zhongguo Meishujia Renming Cidian Dai Jian was active in the Daoguang period, and was a native of Jining, Shandong province.
