An elaborately embroidered ivory silk ground lady's coat
Late Qing/Republic period
The long coat with center front opening and the matching sleeve bands embroidered in a dense knotted-stitch technique with vases of flowers and ribbon-tied emblems worked in rich colors, the black silk ground border bands featuring flowers and butterflies in shades of blue and white (patches of foxing, possibly re-cut for export use).
